1980 Piper Saratoga

About the Plane

The Saratoga is the most recent aircraft to join the Hillsboro Flying Club stables, sought out after identifying a desire within the membership for a true cross-country aircraft. Seating 6, with the rear seats in a “club” formation, and a useful load of 1448 lbs, and a flight deck that rivals some aircraft twice its size, 7JC is will truly enable you take the whole family on adventures that are typically limited to 2 or 3 passengers. The 300 horsepower Lycoming IO-540 up front provides an impressive pull during takeoff roll, and will haul the aircraft up to 12,000 feet in about 20 minutes at max gross weight. Cruise speeds clock in at 136 knots at 65% power burning 13.8 gallons per hour, when combined with 105 useable gallons, 7JC has the means to make quick work of long legs.
