Tach vs Hobbs
The hourly rates shown above are for wet tach time, not hobbs time, which saves our members a lot of money! Visit the Tach vs Hobbs page for an explanation of the differences, and how tach time saves you money.
Fuel Reimbursement
The only time fuel reimbursement is necessary is when members buy fuel on their own, away from the hangar. Fueling the aircraft at the hangar requires no payment by the member, only a signature.
When members do purchase fuel for club aircraft, we reimburse them at the same rate we pay for fuel from our fuel provider, regardless of what the member actually paid for the fuel (whether it was more or less). So, for example, a member could make money if they purchased fuel at Twin Oaks, which almost always has lower rates than HIO. Our current HIO preferred fuel vendor is Aero Air.
Members may use one of two methods to obtain fuel reimbursements:
- Use the Google Form: Fuel Reimbursement Form
- Snap a photo of your fuel receipt and email it to the Club Treasurer directly.
As of February 1st 2023, fuel is reimbursed at $7.70/gal
